Bain Capital supports Good Sports at the Legends of the Ball Boston gala Kyle Betty opens the Legends of the Ball Gala

On May 21, Good Sports – an organization dedicated to providing young people with athletic equipment in support of healthy lifestyles – held its annual Legends of the Ball Boston gala.  Kyle Betty, a Managing Director at Bain Capital Credit and current member of the Good Sports Board of Directors, represented Bain Capital at the event and opened the gala with introductory remarks. He was joined by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, Boston Bruins goalie Tuuka Rask, and approximately 500 business and sports industry leaders, all of whom gathered to support Good Sports’ mission to get more kids "in the game." In total, the gala raised approximately $465,000 for Good Sports, with Bain Capital Community Partnership’s (BCCP) Hall of Fame sponsorship contributing $25,000 to that total.

In addition to providing sponsorship for the event, Bain Capital was inducted into the Good Sports Founder’s Circle, which recognizes individuals and companies that have supported the organization for 10 years or more.

"We are honored to have had the continued support of Bain Capital over the years," said Good Sports CEO, Melissa Harper. "They have been loyal supporters for the past 11 years and have seen us grow from an organization with just 500 basketballs to a room filled with 500 incredible supporters, helping us give millions of kids the chance to be active. It was with great pride that we were able to honor Bain Capital at the Legends of the Ball as one of the newest members of our Founder’s Circle for their continued commitment to helping get more kids in the game."

Bain Capital’s relationship with Good Sports dates back to 2004, one year after the organization was founded. Since then, current and former Bain Capital employees have volunteered their time and effort to aid Good Sports’ cause, and Bain Capital as a firm has donated a total of approximately $70,000 over that time period.
