Bain Capital employees team up with Tenacity students for round robin tennis tournament Tenacity students and attendees share the courts

On August 29th, Bain Capital’s Jonathan Lavine and Jason Park, along with several friends from other Boston firms, joined senior leadership and students from youth programs provider Tenacity to enjoy a round robin-style doubles tennis event. The event provided a unique and intimate twist on the traditional doubles tournament format, as Bain Capital employees had the opportunity to share the court with Tenacity students. Following the tournament, students and Tenacity leadership participated in a social hour with the attendees, sharing their stories and raising awareness for the organization's mission of improving the scholastic, character and physical development of urban youth by combining tennis instruction and academic support with a focus on life skills.

Bain Capital has supported Tenacity for several years – the Bain Capital Children’s Charity and Bain Capital employees have contributed more than $1.5 million to the organization since 2005.

Since its founding in 1999, Tenacity has served more than 20,000 students who lack access to a safe, constructive after-school environment. Tenacity alumni boast a 95% high school graduation rate – compared to a 67% graduation rate for the city of Boston.
