Bain Capital employees join New Profit Managing Partner Kim Syman for roundtable discussion Kim Syman addresses attendees at the roundtable discussion

On July 27, Bain Capital employees joined New Profit Managing Partner Kim Syman for a roundtable discussion in the Dining Room in the Boston office to learn more about New Profit's approach, investment process and touch upon the topic of early childhood learning and their Early Learning Fund. Organized by Bain Capital Private Equity Associate Jennifer Xia, the event - the first in a planned series of discussions between New Profit and Bain Capital employees - presented a unique opportunity for attendees to learn about New Profit's experience finding and scaling impactful nonprofit organizations.

"The flexibility in our discussion was great - Kim is so knowledgeable and so open about her work," said Jennifer. "It was a very stimulating session. People left with lots of energy and a desire to learn even more about how they could help."

New Profit is a social innovation organization and venture philanthropy fund that Bain Capital and its employees have supported as board members and through collaboration on individual projects since its founding. Bain Capital Managing Director Josh Bekenstein currently serves as the Chairman of the Board, and Managing Directors Paul Edgerley and Mark E. Nunnelly also sit on the Board.
