The volunteers gather at the beginning of the service day
On July 23, 160 employees from Bain Capital Credit joined City Year corps members for a day of service at the McKay School in East Boston, Massachusetts. The volunteers engaged in a wide range of activities at the school, including restoring classroom spaces, painting colorful murals and creating supply kits that will be a valuable resource for the students in the upcoming school year.
Through their collective efforts, the volunteers helped transform the McKay School into a more vibrant and welcoming environment for students for the upcoming school year and beyond. As Mollie Puskar, Director of Volunteer Impact at City Year, said to the team, "Just as every child deserves access to quality education, they also deserve learning environments that are nurturing, inviting and inspire creativity. Thanks to your hard work and the collective efforts of the team, there is no doubt the return to school will be brighter and more exciting for the more than 700 students at the McKay."
This service day is another example of the committed relationship that Bain Capital has with City Year. Over the course of the partnership between the two organizations, Bain Capital employees have contributed hundreds of volunteer hours and more than $25 million in donations.
