Experience

John Connaughton is Co-Managing Partner of Bain Capital, a leading global private investment firm with approximately $75 billion in assets under management. He also serves as the global head of Bain Capital Private Equity and the global head of the firm’s healthcare vertical.

Since joining the firm in 1989, Mr. Connaughton has played a leading role in a wide spectrum of prominent healthcare and information/media businesses in which Bain Capital Private Equity has made investments.

Prior to joining Bain Capital, Mr. Connaughton was a strategy consultant at Bain & Company, where he advised Fortune 500 companies on business strategy and operating initiatives.

Mr. Connaughton is also active in a number of charitable and civic activities including serving as a member of the Berklee College of Music Board of Trustees, the McIntire School of Commerce Foundation Board at the University of Virginia, and the Bain Capital Community Partnership.

Education

Mr. Connaughton received a B.S. in Commerce with Distinction from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker scholar.
